Pyongyang, April 19 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Thursday carried "Let Us Hold Great Comrade Kim Jong Il in High Esteem as General Secretary of Our Party Forever and Successfully Accomplish the Revolutionary Cause of Juche", a talk the dear respected Kim Jong Un had with leading officials of the Central Committee of theWorkers' Party of Korea (WPK) on April 6.

In the talk Kim Jong Un said that the Fourth Conference of the WPK is to be held amid great expectation and concern of the people at home and abroad in the run-up to the significant Day of the Sun marking the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung.

Kim Jong Un called for making the Conference serve as a turning point in providing an important landmark in upholding leader Kim Jong Il as eternal leader of the WPK together with Kim Il Sung and successfully realizing their ideas and cause.

He stressed the need to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as general secretary of the WPK forever. Doing so is a principled requirement for holding fast to his idea and line and victoriously advancing our revolutionary cause, Kim Jong Un noted, adding:

This is by no means a symbolic meaning. This means invariably having Kim Jong Il at the post of general secretary of the WPK and carrying out the party building and activities in line his idea and intention.

The idea and line of Kim Jong Il serve as eternal guidelines of our party and revolution and an ever-victorious banner whose validity and vitality have been proven in the revolutionary practice. The victorious advance and completion of our revolutionary cause is unthinkable without his idea and line.

Only when Kim Jong Il is held in high esteem as general secretary of the WPK forever, will it be possible to dynamically advance the revolution and construction and successfully accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche as in the past.

At the Party Conference we are going to declare internally and externally that the WPK is the glorious party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Un said, adding:

The WPK is the party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il as it holds them in high esteem as eternal leaders. The guiding idea of the WPK is the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism. The Workers' Party of Korea is a glorious party that has Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as its guiding idea and struggles for their realization.

To model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism is the supreme programme of the WPK. This is a revolutionary succession to the modeling of the whole society on Kimilsungism and represents its development to a new higher stage.

We should wage a more dynamic struggle to model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism just as we waged a strenuous struggle under the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il, regarding the modeling of the whole society on Kimilsungism as the party's supreme programme.

No matter what difficult and huge revolutionary duty we may face, we are sure to triumph as there are outstanding leaders, eternal sun of Juche, the invincible WPK, the people intensely loyal to the party and the leader as well as the strong revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu.

We should hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal leader of our party and people and glorify his revolutionary career and undying revolutionary feats for all ages.

Kim Jong Il was a great leader, matchless patriot and kind-hearted leader of the people, the leader who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of its people with absolute loyalty to the President and warm love for the country and its people.

His life was the most brilliant life of a peerlessly great man who performed undying feats for the party, the revolution, the country and the people true to the noble intention of the President.

We should carry out all work for holding Kim Jong Il in high esteem for all ages and perpetuating the memory of the leader with pure conscience and moral obligation.

To develop the WPK into the eternal party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il means holding fast to Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the guiding idea of the WPK and conducting the party building and activities just as was thought and intended by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

What is important for strengthening the WPK as the eternal party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il is to more thoroughly establish the party's monolithic leadership system. All the party members, servicepersons of the People's Army and other people should uphold the party's ideology and leadership with faith and conscience, rally as firm as an iron wall around the Party Central Committee in thinking and purpose and sense of moral obligation and share their destiny with the party in good or grim days.

We should strengthen the single-minded unity of the WPK and the revolutionary ranks in every way and thoroughly defend it.

Single-minded unity is the most valuable revolutionary legacy bequeathed to us by Kim Jong Il and mainstay of the Korean revolution. The single-minded unity in which the leader, the party and the masses are united on the basis of great idea, warm loving care and feelings is the greatest treasure more valuable than hundreds of millions of tons of gold.

It is necessary to make the noble and beautiful traits of helping and leading each other forward pervade the whole country and thus make society a great harmonious family in which all its members are united in single mind.

Kim Jong Un said:

The heroic deeds performed by Pak Thae Son, former miner of the Kumgol Mine, by laying down his valuable life for the collective and comrades and by Ri Chang Son who was a farmer of the Ohyon Co-op Farm of Yonan County are beautiful deeds which can be found only among the people in our era who were raised by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. They set examples for everybody to follow.

Songun represents our independence, dignity and life. A country with weak military might can not defend its sovereignty and right to existence but will become plaything and fall victim to the imperialists in the long run. This is a hard fact. So we should consistently hold fast to the work of bolstering the military might.

The might of Songun represents the might of the People's Army and what is essential in strengthening the military might is to strengthen the People's Army.

The People's Army should become standard-bearers and a shock brigade not only in defending the country but in carrying out the party's plan for building a thriving nation as the driving force of the revolution. It should also become pace-setters in creating and disseminating Songun culture in the new century.

The traits of attaching importance to military affairs should be established throughout society and an all-people, nationwide defence system should be consolidated to turn the whole country into an impregnable fortress.

We should bring about a decisive turn in improving the standard of people's living and building an economic power.

We should put forward the people who have trusted in and followed the party only as the happiest people in the world by making the precious assets, which Kim Jong Il provided with much effort, pay off. This was his ardent wish and is the firm determination and will of our party.

We should wage an unflinching offensive in response to the flames of Hamnam and rapidly develop vanguard economic sectors and basic industrial fields and thus lay a firm foundation for the economic development and increase production in all domains of the national economy.

Priority should be given to power, coal and metal industries and railway transport. Only then will it be possible to reenergize the national economy and stabilize and improve the people's living standard.

We should build a knowledge-based economic power in response to the flames of the industrial revolution in the new century.

We should struggle with a high aim and ideal as intended by Kim Jong Il who used to instruct to look at the world with one's feet planted on one's own land, and thus beat the world in all aspects. In the spirit of exploration and creation displayed by workers in Ryonha who brought about drastic progress in CNC machine tools production, a drive should be waged to push back the frontiers of the latest science and technology to put the country's overall technological equipment on the level of world standard and improve the economic structure to meet the requirements of the era of the knowledge-based economy.

Kim Jong Un Speaks at Military Parade

Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un made a congratulatory speech at the military parade celebrating the centenary of the birth of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.

In his speech Kim Jong Un said that the military parade is a great festival of victors which was provided according to the noble intention of leader Kim Jong Il and on his direct initiative to glorify forever the feats Kim Il Sung performed in the army building and demonstrate the might of the socialist power before the world.

Kim Il Sung, who directed primary efforts to strengthening the revolutionary armed forces in the whole period of his protracted revolutionary activities, worked such military miracle in the 20th century as defeating the most ferocious two imperialisms in one generation, trained the Korean People's Army into a match-for-a hundred revolutionary army, put all the people under arms and turned the whole country into a fortress, providing a strong military guarantee for the sovereignty of the country and the eternal prosperity of the nation, he noted.

Kim Jong Il, who regarded it as his lifelong mission to carry forward and accomplish the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche pioneered by Kim Il Sung, ushered in the greatest heyday of the development of the Korean revolutionary armed forces with his extraordinary wisdom, outstanding commanding art and matchless grit, he said, and went on:

The Korean revolutionary armed forces have fully demonstrated the might of the powerful revolutionary army distinct in its revolutionary nature and strong in its militant spirit and might under the care of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un’s Declaration

The world is currently focusing its attention on the DPRK, speculating which path it would take and what policies it would pursue after the demise of Kim Jong Il, chairman of the National Defence Commission on December 17, 2011.

AP reported that Kim Jong Un acquainted himself in detail with the living of the soldiers with parental affection and posed for photographs with them much like President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il did.

It has also entered the road of building a powerful country with knowledge-based economy by relying on the successful building of the CNC-based machine-building industry. By dint of Songun politics the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 Declaration, the action programme of the former, were adopted, unfolding the bright vista for achieving the national reunification.

As the Korean-style socialism has been safeguarded and further strengthened, the world socialist movement is inspired with a new vigour. Governments which aspire after socialism emerged one after another in Latin America which had been called the “quiet backyard” of the United States. Songun politics has been proved as the ever-victorious banner and all-powerful sword of socialist cause and the cause of independence of mankind.

Proceeding from these facts Kim Jong Un’s visit to the guards division constitutes an important occasion which demonstrated his iron-like will to add brilliance to the achievements of Songun-based leadership of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and inherit their Songun politics without the slightest vacillation.

This was testified by the events that coincided with this inspection tour; announcement of a decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, publication of joint slogans of the Central Committee and Central Military Commission of the WPK on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, and the New Year’s joint editorial of Rodong Sinmun and other leading newspapers, titled, Glorify this year 2012 as a
year of proud victory, a year when an era of prosperity is unfolding, true to the instructions of the great General Kim Jong Il. Korea has demonstrated its faith and will to venerate Kim Jong Il as the eternal leader of the WPK and the Korean people and build a thriving socialist country without fail under the unfurled banner of Songun.

Just like in the days when Kim Jong Il was alive Songun politics is thoroughly being applied in all fields of politics, military affairs, the economy and culture. The whole country has turned out in the effort to surely open the gates of a thriving nation by 2012, the goal set by him.

Single-hearted unity of the whole society has reached the highest level and the self-reliant national defence capabilities have been continuously strengthened.

As long as it is led by Kim Jong Un, who is unwaveringly inheriting the banner of Songun, only victories will be in store for socialist Korea.

The Centenary of President Kim Il Sung’s Birth

The year 2012 marks the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung, a distinguished man of the 20th century.

President Kim Il Sung, founding father of socialist Korea, was born on April 15, 1912, into a poor peasant family at Mangyongdae in Pyongyang. In those days Korea was under the military occupation of Japanese imperialism (1905-1945).

Kim Il Sung was educated in patriotism by his parents and was under their revolutionary influence from his early years. It was in his teens, early 1925, when he left his native place and motherland with a resolute determination not to return before Korea became independent.

He formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU) in Huadian in Northeast China in October 1926. The formation of the DIU made it possible for the Korean revolution to break with the preceding generation obsessed with flunkeyism and dogmatism and advance along a new road based on the principle of independence.

In the course of blazing the trail for the Korean revolution, he discovered the truth that the masters of the revolution were the masses of the people and the revolution could emerge victorious only when they were organized and mobilized, the truth of Juche that the revolution should be undertaken on one’s own responsibility in accordance with one’s own belief instead of conducting it after obtaining someone else’s recognition or under someone else’s instructions, and that all the problems arising in the revolution should be solved independently and creatively to meet the specific situation of the country. On the basis of this, he made public the creation of Juche idea at Kalun in Northeast China in June 1930, the gist of which is that the masses of the people are the masters and the driving force of the revolution and construction, in other words, one is the master of one’s own destiny and has the power to carve it out.

The creation of the Juche idea was a significant event that opened up a new era, an independent era, where the masses of the people emerged as masters of their own destiny and of history for the first time in human history.

Kim Il Sung, having also proclaimed at the Kalun meeting the origination of the Songun idea that the revolution is pioneered, advances and wins victory by the strength of the arms, founded the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army in April 1932, thus starting his Songun-based revolutionary leadership. He led the arduous anti-Japanese armed struggle with neither the home front nor support from a regular army, and achieved the country’s liberation in August 1945.

After the country’s liberation, Kim Il Sung put forward the line of building a new independent society following the road of progressive democracy of Korean style. He proclaimed the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea, a leading force of the Korean society, in October 1945, and had democratic reforms like agrarian reform, the nationalization of major industries and so on, carried out. Then he established the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the first genuine people’s democratic state in the East, on September 9, 1948.

Immediately after the liberation, he saw to it that the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army was developed into the Korean People’s Army, a regular armed force, thus providing the newly-born country with powerful defence capabilities. Herein lies the key to the historical victory the Korean people gained in the Korean war (1950-1953) which was started by the US imperialists in less than five years after the liberation and less than two years after the founding of the Republic. The Korean army and people fought indefatigably under his sagacious leadership and inflicted the ignominious defeat upon the US aggressors for the first time in history, thus defending the national sovereignty and dignity with honour.

In the ensuing postwar periods Kim Il Sung put forth the line of economic construction for giving priority to the growth of heavy industry while simultaneously developing light industry and agriculture, which was a new line unprecedented so far. He adhered to the line of building an independent national economy by rejecting categorically the pressure from others to force Korea
to join the Council for Mutual Economic Aid (COMECON). He kindled in December 1956 the torch of the Chollima movement, an all-people movement. (Chollima means a legendary winged horse that gallops 400km a day. It symbolizes the revolutionary spirit of the Korean people to make a great upsurge). In the flames of the movement Korea brilliantly accomplished the historic tasks of industrialization in a matter of 14 years (1957-1970), during which its industrial output grew at an average rate of 19.1 per cent.

He set forth the original line of transforming the economic forms along socialist lines prior to technological reconstruction of agriculture and energetically led the work for its implementation. Thanks to his endeavours socialist system was established in Korea in 1958. He also made sure that the scientific and advantageous socialist economic management system was established and,
on its basis, made public Theses on the Socialist Rural Question in Our Country in February 1964, thus showing the correct path for successfully solving the rural question.

Kim Il Sung paid close attention to developing Korea’s socialist system into socialism centering on the masses. Under his warm solicitude, the systems of universal free medical care and compulsory 11-year free education are enforced, and systems of building houses at state expenses and taking care of people’s well-beings established, and tax system is abolished completely.

In accordance with his grand plan of economic construction, Korea carried out with credit several rounds of national economic plans, and thus has possessed great economic potentials capable of manufacturing 10 000-ton press and large-sized oxygen plant by itself and building an 8-km-long barrage.

Under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung Korea has developed to a powerful socialist state independent in politics, self-sufficient in the economy and self-reliant in national defence. Thanks to its solid foundations and inexhaustible potentialities Korea could hold up unfailingly the banner of socialism even when other countries abandoned socialism in the closing years of last century. And it could further leap forward toward a high peak of building a socialist thriving nation, smashing intensive offensives of the US-led imperialist allied forces in the fields of politics, the economy and military. All the eye-opening achievements made in the course of building a powerful and prosperous nation are materialization of the ideals and lifelong wishes of President Kim Il Sung.

President Kim Il Sung exerted strenuous efforts to the reunification of the country ever since its division caused by the United States. Always saying that the greatest present he could make for the Korean nation would be the country’s reunification, he laid its fundamental basis by setting forth the three charters of the Korean reunification—three principles of Korea’s reunification, Ten-point Programme of the Great Unity of the Whole Nation for the Reunification of the Country, and the proposal of founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo. On July 7, the day before he passed away (July 8, 1994) he read a document related to the country’s reunification and left his last autographic sign. Thanks to his efforts a bright prospect of the reunification was ushered in.

President Kim Il Sung enjoyed an outstanding prestige in the world political circles and boundless respect and admiration of the progressive peoples of the world for his significant contributions to the cause of independence of mankind as well as the Korean revolution. He conducted energetic ideological and theoretical activities and made public a large number of works, all of which have provided political and social figures and progressive peoples of the world with valuable ideological and theoretical nourishment and encouragement.

During his lifetime he met over 70 000 heads of state and party, political and social personages from 136 countries. Out of noble internationalist obligation he also rendered selfless political and material aid and moral support to many countries, including China, Viet Nam and Cuba, in their struggles for national liberation against imperialism and the building of new societies.

He put forth the idea of making the whole world independent, led the people championing independence to unite and struggle against all manners of imperialism and domination, and greatly contributed to development of the non-aligned movement as well as the socialism movement.

His immortal exploits and noble virtues won the reverence and admiration of the world people. He was awarded hundreds of orders and medals, and honorary titles from governments, political parties, social organizations, business enterprises, cities, universities, research institutes of many countries, regional and international organizations, and UN-affiliated organizations. Nearly 200 000 gifts were presented to him by heads of party, state and government, figures of political and social organizations, and international organizations of 170-odd countries and regions. He has been awarded decorations, medals, and honorary titles and presented with gifts even after he had passed away.

The International Kim Il Sung Prize was instituted, over 480 streets, institutions and organizations in more than 100 countries were named after him, and 1 000 Juche idea study groups, including the International Institute of the Juche Idea, are active in 110 countries.

Grand functions in celebration of the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung are being held on a worldwide scale.

Kim Jong Il Will Live for All Eternity

Kim Jong Il, leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, passed away on December 17, 2011. By his death, the world lost the most outstanding man.

He was the greatest of great men, both in name and in practice.

Kim Jong Il was, first of all, a great ideologist and theoretician.He enriched and developed in a comprehensive way the Juche idea and the Songun idea authored by Kim Il Sung, founding-father of socialist Korea and pioneer of the cause of independence of mankind. He published a great number of works covering all spheres of social life–political, economic, military and cultural–thus ceaselessly developing the Juche idea in depth. Now, the Juche idea shines more brightly as the banner of the cause of mankind for independence.

When the cause of socialism was undergoing trials after the collapse of socialism in several countries, he wrote such important works as Abuses of Socialism Are Intolerable and Socialism Is a Science, proving that socialism is the invariable ideal of humanity.

In the late 1990s when the anti-socialist offensive of the imperialist allied forces was focused on socialist Korea, Kim Jong Il put forward Songun politics as the basic mode of socialist politics by developing in-depth the Songun idea that struck its root in the Juche idea.

This provided a powerful ideological and theoretical weapon with which the progressive peoples of the world could advance the socialist cause winning victory after victory under any circumstances and conditions.

Kim Jong Il was a master of leadership. He ushered in the heyday of prosperity unprecedented in the history of the Korean nation.

In the second half of the 1990s, when Korea faced manifold hardships caused by the extreme economic blockade and military stifling manoeuvres of the US-led imperialist allied forces and by consecutive natural disasters, he safeguarded socialism holding higher the banner of Songun, opening a new era of building a prosperous and powerful socialist country. Korea, thanks to his grand plan and his energetic leadership, could become a manufacturer and launcher of artificial earth satellite and a nuclear state.

He kindled the flames of an industrial revolution of the new century to ensure that miraculous successes were achieved in all sectors of Korea’s economy.

Kim Jong Il opened a radiant vista for Korea’s reunification. Grandiose June 15 reunification era, whose principle is By Our Nation Itself, was opened as the outcome of the adoption of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration (June 2000) and October 4 Declaration (October 2007). It is a steadfast aspiration of the entire Korean nation to implement these declarations to the letter and achieve the independent reunification of their country by their concerted efforts, whatever the situation.

Kim Jong Il pressed ahead with the cause of global independence holding aloft the banner of anti-imperialist independence. He saw to it that the Pyongyang Declaration Let Us Defend and Advance the Cause of Socialism was made public in April 1992 to make it possible to bring about a fresh upswing in the world socialist movement, and he gave an active encouragement and support to the struggle of the peoples in different countries aspiring after socialism and independence. His energetic foreign activities conducted on the principles of independence, peace and friendship made a great contribution to building a new, independent world and defending peace and stability of the world.

Kim Jong Il was the benevolent father of people. Regarding politics as an undertaking to bring love for people into full bloom in its purpose, Kim Jong Il devoted his all for people’s happiness. He spared nothing if it was for people’s lives and health, and had many structures built for them. He cherished people’s happiness as his biggest wish, and worked hard for its realization.

He made a continuous forced march for on-site guidance for his people to lead an affluent life with nothing to envy in the world. His on-site guidance was a forced march of legendary superintensity that continued, rain or shine. He passed away on the train on his way for on-site guidance by a sudden attack of illness caused by mental and physical exertions.

History has never witnessed such a great man, who sacrificed himself heart and soul only for the people.

Vishwanath, director-general of the International Institute of the Juche Idea, pointed out that leader Kim Jong Il was a man sent by heaven for the service of humanity, and that such a great man might be born only once in some centuries.

Kim Jong Il will live for all eternity in the hearts of the Korean people and the progressive peoples of the world.
